Update! Visual and gameplay tweaks!


Hey herders!

The first of many updates is here! For this version we've:

  • Lowered the number of Cat Snax as a balance thing
  • Lowered the power of the Barking Doggy. Again, balance.
  • Reduced the size of the player slightly so that Twitch streamers don't get stuck in doorways
  • Added post processing effects and SSAO
  • Added graphical options to the settings menu.
  • Changed the main menu music to be less... jarring
  • Made the cat trap play a noise when full

I didn't really think we would need graphics options in what is quite a simple game, but it helps on our team's geriatric Macbook, so we've added it in. A native Linux build is coming soon. Kavey promised an entire Twitch chat, so I guess it's his job now.

The idea behind the cat trap noise is that you'll know when your cat trap is full so you can really optimise those speed runs by picking it up right away.

Finally, here's a comparison between the old version (left) and the new version (on the right). Hopefully you'll agree the lighting and post-processing changes have really improved the look and feel of things.
